[Gta04-owner] Setting up a working mail account in QtMoko v55

Hello Bob,

thank you very much for the useful hints. You found it!
Of course I tried to get the mails over my mobile provider, because it's
a mobile phone... ;-))

At first, no telnet available in QtMoko. "apt-get install telnet" failed
in spite of working internet connection, proven by Arora. Because of
your hints I connected the phone with my Laptop and coupled both via IP
over USB as had been pointed out earlier in this list. After that
"apt-get install telnet" worked. "telnet imap.1und1.de 143" also worked.

Then I tried once more to get mails and this time it worked! \o/
\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

Never I would have got the idea that it could be this, because the
mobile provider is the same: 1&1! What a shame not to be able to
access their own servers! :-o

Might be because it's a SIM that was included for free within another
package of them. But I think it's clear now that I have to look for a
better provider. Any recommendations what a good provider in Germany is,
that I can take for my freedom loving GTA04 in order to have fun and to
be lucky?

Or are there any hacks possible to tunnel through the (obviously few)
ports that are open?

Best regards
    Sven
