I hit the same problem too. Unfortunately i can't reproduce it yet. I tried
your steps but it worked this time ;-( It would be really nice if you could
give exact steps which reproduce it.

On the main screen just pres the "missed calls" icon.

GTA04 can access 3G internet, but it's not using PPP as Freerunner. We need
special 3G internet plugin for GTA04 UMTS. But it already works from command
line, you can read about it here [1].

I agree that Input methods in QtMoko are really crappy. I have some ideas but
i didnt have time to implement it yet - there are now more important things...

Arora is the web browser - it's first icon in Application list.

You can remove the entry only if it's not active. You might need to do this
command in terminal:

	ifconfig usb0 down

then back to Settings->Internet, "Stop" from context menu and "Delete" from
context menu.

I discovered it 2 days ago after 3 years of using QtMoko ;-) Go to Settings-
>Profiles, select "General" and choose "Edit" from context menu. Go to tab
"Tones" and press the button next to "Tone" label.

If you want your own tones you have to copy them to the phone. The media
system will try to find them in /home/root/Documents or /media/card/Documents.
They should be visible then under the documents icon (the right bottom icon in
Main menu). You can select "Rescan System" to refresh the document list.

By default QtMoko can play wav and ogg files. If you install codecs
(Applications->More apps) you can also play mp3.

Same way as ringtone, but i am not sure if it works - i never tried it.

You can use USB networking [1] for accessing the phone. GTA04 has after boot
by default usb0 network which has ip address If you connect the
phone and PC with USB cable you will see in dmesg on PC:

usb0: register 'cdc_ether' at usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.2, CDC Ethernet Device,

if you do:

	ifconfig usb0

it should ping and

	ssh root at

should give you shell. If you want internet on the phone do this:

	iptables -A POSTROUTING -t nat -j MASQUERADE -s
	echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

By locking the main screen (after 10s it should dim). You can set intervals
and enable suspend in Settings->Power management.

Thanks for nice summary about your experience and good luck.
