I see often a white screen after screen is blanked.
It does not get into a sane state by restarting the x-server.
I did not have that problem with 3.7 + wheezy. Is the only
solution at the moment to do a
xset s off
xset -dpms    ?

Is that with gsm modem enabled or disabled? I remember that if you do not enable it
(toggling that gpio line), suspend currents were higher.
