Hello together,
Finally I managed to improve navit for qtmoko. If interested have a look at:

https://github.com/metalstrolch/navit.git (qtmoko_hack2 branch)

Things working now:
  - Navit with town search

  - No crashes when text overlays are used. No "black screen" on navit
startup.

  - QWhereabouts integration without segfault on exit.

Things not working:
  - using QWhereabouts for GPS data reception. Need to write a navit
vehicle for that. Not that bad since
you can now use gpsd for QWhereabouts and native navit. But this
doubles traffic between navit and gpsd

  - Switching back to navit screen from qtmoko "running" menu despite
navit correctly showing up there.
You can kill navit from there. No clue why. Need to read how qtopia
does this show on top notification.

  - Qtmoko "back" button on lower border still useless.

Things not tested:
  - Native debian package generation. I'll come back in some days after
my qemu turtle finished it's run.
I cross compiled with limited dependencies on armhf chroot

By the way, you can have nice speech announcing by using espeak.

Greetings,
Stefan
