The Debian/LXDE in hw-validation also uses tslib and works fine.

It uses the one from the Debian Squeeze repository [1]
For Debian Lenny I had to heavily patch it [2] and compile my own variant.

tslib is unfortunately not very well documented. The best
documentation is the source code package from Debian...
