yes, udev

I reported the bug here: http://bugs.debian.org/625752

to run udev >=168 you need a kernel with accept4 support which is not
the case for the default 2.6.32 that is provided.

the patch I added to the bugreport fixes the issue.

yes.

contact me if you have any problems relating to bootstrapping debian for
the gta04. I can build you debian testing/unstable images for it in
armel or armhf as you want. See my thread "debian armhf + linux 3.1".
