Hi,
I think it could help to start a crowdfunding project.
Basically it's the same as the GroupTour (register now, pay when we
reach 350 units – or not at all), but the GroupTour doesn't look and
feel like crowdfunding and people are probably waiting to see if the 350
units could be reached before they put their order (and money).
=> Everyone is waiting for the others.
We should use "real" crowdfunding, which people are familiar with, as:
* they would know that they have to pay only if the project funds.
* they could publically see that others are placing their "orders"
* it's easy and straight forward for supporters
* we could convince them to pay a more, by offering little extras
While the basic pack would be the gta04 board for 499€, the extras could be:
* people can be present while their board gets populated at some fixed
date (dunno if this is possible)
* people get a beer when meeting with the core team and chating about
the gta04 (e.g. at a "Stammtisch")
* people get the board + LCD
* people get the (limited) complete version
* people get an extra (prototype) PCB signed by the core team
* other ideas?
There exist some plattforms like kickstarter.com, which can be used by
germans as well:
http://www.startnext.de – basic setup seems to be free
http://www.inkubato.com – take 7% of the earnings
http://www.pling.de – take 7% of the earnings
The starnext plattform looks promising at the first glance, as they
don't take a provision, but fund theirselves through support: They do a
press campaign, social media campaign, etc. for you if you pay some 100€.
The others take 7% commission, which is quite a bit at 350*500€ (>10k€),
and I guess this is something we cannot afford.
BR,
Lukas
