Hm. I am not sure if this is hardware induced and spurious since I could not repeat it.

Anyways I can now connect to a WLAN base station with security disabled (just proteced by MAC).
For WPA it might be that my setup has a bug... Or the base station is too far away and reception by the ESP32 better than transmission.
