Hi,
v4.16.14 arrived and I looked through the patches (did not compile or test).

Some are a little scary that they fix such fundamental things like memory management...

I don't know if we are affected by this at all and if it has been fixed in v4.17.0, but such upstream
bugs could be e.g. reasons for our strcmp(NULL) problem.
