it solves a different (user-space) problem and not our kernel space problem:

	Gypsy and GPSD share the same problem space: multiplexing GPS data from one device to many clients.

This means there is one GPS chip somewhere and multiple Applications want to access the data.

Here we have the problem space:

	Power control of some GPS chip (w2sg0004) and providing NMEA to user-space.

I.e. get the chip turned on if needed and provide the data to whoever wants it.
You can then use either gpsd or gypsy or whatever you like. Even "cat /dev/ttyGPS0".
