Well, the main use is if you use the b_host.sh script and do not attach
a device... So it is not that important. I rarely use it myself. But it
does not harm if it is there.

For the initial problem: I do not think so. "random actions" was
playing around with charging/usb settings and suspending several
times then it did suspend with usb connected and charging enabled that
could indeed some interference which somehow fixes some things. The
most interesting question is why
the bci thinks the battery is removed.
I do not even know why that can happen.
