Out of interest, has anyone made a recent survey of the available modem

because of gammu being mentioned below - that is one that I wasn't

The ones I am (now) aware of:

Also has a little extra interest for me because it has a library,
libgammu, and so is perhaps more accessible from

This will probably still be my favourite, if I ever get back to
GTA04 hacking, because I like the combination of Connman and oFono.
I guess FSO is dead now anyway, so would not be a good choice.
Agreed that that one is definitely not useful, then.

Qtmoko: works only with kernel 3.7.
sms works, ussd partly (menu structures do not work)
phone calls/answering works
sending dtmf works
probably also needs adaptations for newer modem firmware
simple-gsmgui (kernel 3.7, 3.12 or 4.10.x):
- phone calls/answering works
- ussd works including menu structures
- no sending dtmf
- reacts properly on rfkill but does not do rfkill block/unblock itself
Replicant 4.2 with kernel 3.12 (or with 4.10.x with my fixes from
today):
- phone calls/answering works
- ussd works including menus
- sms works

Andreas
