I opened the A4 manual; do you have the bare board as depicted on page 12 of 
the manual, or the complete phone? Page 13 got the board and neo freerunner 
case next to it. 

There are (/should be) two microswitches; one on the 'left shoulder' and one 
just under the USB-port. The shoulder button is aux, the one under the USB 
port is power. The board on page 13 is frontside back on the photo; you can 
see the USB connection on the left and a little bit sticking out just under 
it. That is the power microswitch. Aux is right on top in that photo. 

In the A3 revision, AUX would get stuck in the freerunner housing (mine 
actually broke of after a few years). Power did not have any issues. The power 
button has a LED built in, it lights while charging (and some other events).

I imagine the description does not match your experience? Where does it 
differ?
