I've been playing with the kernel on the GTA04 too, doing different things to
Nikolaus.
I've just pushed out an update to my 3.7 kernel. e.g.
git://git.neil.brown.name/gta04 3.7-gta04
Of interest:
- I removed some power saving measures that made the USB link to the GSM
modem unreliable. I now have problems only rarely.
- I've implemented hardware-routing for voicecalls. This code is quite
different from that by Andreas Kemnade, though having that as a starting
point was quite helpful.
My code is less of a hack an integrates with the DAPM (dynamic audio
power management) so everything turns off and on as expected.
I did add a new control, but it is different to the one Andreas added.
- I've added a 'min_battery_mvolts' file to
/sys/class/power-supply/twl4030_usb
so you can tune the point at which the battery starts charging again.
Setting this to 4100 means that the battery never goes below 90% while
plugged in.
- I've moved 'max_current' into
/sys/class/power_supply/twl4030_usb
and also
/sys/class/power_supply/twl4030_ac
which makes it easier to find, and means that the current to expect from
the 'ac' port and the usb can be tuned independently.
- 'max_current' can now be set has high as 1.7A so you might be able to use
more of the current that a 2A charger provides.
- I've added a 'mode' file to both those directories. It can be
'off' - that apply will not be used, even if available
'auto' - will be used if available and battery needs charging
'continuous' - will be used no matter what voltage is available, or
what the status of the battery is.
This is the same as the 'linear' functionality provided by Andreas.
- The 1GHz operating power point is enabled on hardware which supports it.
Consequently this kernel is not drop-in compatible with previous kernels as
some sysfs files have moved and an ALSA control has changed.
So please be careful...
Now to go look at 3.12 :-)
