I've seen a RepRap during the OpenMobility converence in Prague and it
seems to be able to produce better quality parts than the Makerbot
(seen at FOSDEM). The group which brought the RepRap developed a
nozzle with 0.35mm diameter and an example part I saw was very
promising. They tried to "slice" the front cover for this new nozzle
and it worked without problems. Unfortunately there was not enough
time to actually print it..
