[Gta04-owner] Neocontrol not saving call volume settings

Hi Radek,

Thanks for the info. I have had a play and adjusted the volume to just where I want it. Ended up having a look at the NeoControl sourcecode for hints on which controls to adjust. There are so many!

Your fixes sound good. I am happy to wait for the qt 4.7 based release (others may be different) as it means less work for you  (apart from fixing the .deb issues). Which kernel  should that release be used with (when it comes)? As you know the 3.4 kernel and qtmoko v45 would not suspend properly for me.

Thanks

Kev

Hi,
the files are standard alsa state files. IIRC you can find them in

    /opt/qtmoko/etc/alsa/

the state file for gsm call is gsmearpiece.state

You can use alsamixer during call to tweak volume and save it (still during
call) using:

    alsactl -f /opt/qtmoko/etc/alsa/gsmearpiece.state store

Btw for decent call volume you need HW sound routing patch in kernel and some
other things - then you will get great volume and sound quality.

I have all of this done in git and running on the phone, but i have some
troubles with making qtmoko .deb package with Qt 4.7. So there are two
options:

1/ try to fix .deb build with qt 4.7
2/ release qtmoko v46 still based on qt 4.5

I can also make the .deb package using cross compiling and few hacks...

Btw i have also done some fixes for GSM calls and SMS on GTA04A4, so they
should work now quite good.

Regards

Radek
