I also recall Nikolaus stating that it was cheaper to lay out all boards with 
all sensors, since that most people ordered that version anyway and a separate 
batch for the "low end" boards would cost more than the sensors. 

Maybe I'm off a bit, it's some vague recollection of a list message months 
ago.
