Great news, Nikolaus!

I'm not an EA, but I'd suggest option b. Make sure that the hardware
works, and then iron out the (software) bugs in a larger team. Having
a non-working piece of hardware is a much larger problem than having a
non-working piece of software...

I've donated (some) too, to get the project onwards! Hope it helps (a bit).
