Indeed.

If I remember correctly this was more or less mass production.

If some form of crude case could be produced for 3D printers of some sort,
it'd be great. I hear the previous case design is available but it has too
fine details for 3D printing. Could it be modified to be usable with 3D printing ?
I'm thinking crude adaptations: if buttons are too dificult to print, leave a hole
(and maybe a bevel to avoid pressing them unvoluntarily), buy buttons from
somewhere and screw them to the case. If the battery door is too difficult,
use screws and bolts, things like that. If the case grows bigger than ideal,
but it can be printed and tried, thats something. The wooden case was great,
but I don't know how difficult to finish. The point is getting something
printable and barely usable, and allow further refinement later. The problem
is I have no idea of CAD. Is anyone able to do such adaptations ? If not,
does anybody know where to find someone interested enough in design
for 3D printing and GTA04 ? We don't need a very good design if it is free
and cheap to build in very small amounts. An inferior case easily available
would already be useful as house of GTA02 for buyers of GTA04, and
would allow some degree of commerce with both GTA04 and GTA02
existing units. If people could sell their GTA02 that would be equivalent
to a little decrease in the price of a GTA04 (and environmental benefits
in reuse instead of waste)

What were the most difficult parts ? can they be worked around or are
they somehow critical ?

Sorry if this was already debated. I joined gta04-owners late and have
at some time read the archives but I don't remember the details.
