Well, it can be placed inside, above the µSD/SIM card if we leave off the Mini-USB plug
like shown in this photo:



But then it is difficult to connect it to the internal 5V power (although not
impossible - needs to fiddle two wires through the case). And the antenna wires
must somehow be connected/glued to the battery cover.

This all makes it much more difficult to open and access SIM/µSD or open the whole
device for other mods. Not to forget that there is risk to rupture the cables.

Another thing to be considered is that the receiver chip might get warm and should
not be too close to the battery.

So exposing it externally seems to be a good compromise for opening the GTA04. It
should only be sealed by some glue or a 3D printed "bump" so that it is not possible to
make a short circuit :)

What I have as an idea for a next generation version is to add an (optional) µUSB
socket so that it also can also be used as a Mini-to-Micro-USB adapter (there is
a currently unused power switch in the chip).
