[Community] Fwd: Update mechanism for replicant, FSO ...

Hi all,

To install new software on OpenPhoenux devices, we have APT/dpkg for 
the Debian rootfs, for SHR we have opkg. QtMoko also relies on APT as 
far as I understand.

How do updates for replicant work? Are the APK packages only for apps 
or for all system programs? F-droid can update the f-droid apps but can 
it work as a package manager for the OS?

Next question - would it be a task for the OpenPhoenux community to 
provide updates and fixes for the GTA04 replicant in an automated way? I 
have not yet found update facilities on the replicant site.

Another question: Does FSO ever need updates. If yes - by what 
mechanism can they be provided conveniently?
