I have found the data sheet, so there isn't any missing information
to build a device around it.


Unfortunately it is specified to draw 300 mA @ 5 V and this
translates to 500 mA @ 3.5V (i.e. almost empty battery).

So this appears not to be really better (at least in worst case power consumption)
than the Sharp LQ070 we use in the prototype:

Opinions are invaluable! And even if you can't afford some gadget (now),
an open community lives from people adding information to discussions
to improve everything. Even if they don't use it for themselves.
