What is problematic with it? Any specific issues? What appears to be different?

So it should also be in 3.12 (unless it has been removed by someone).

3.12 is in my experience much closer to Android as 3.0 or 3.4 (although I
did not follow the details). This was the main reason to forget working
on older kernels and repeating work already done by others.

Anyways it may be a buggy implementation in 3.12 or some driver. Or
we have not configured it correctly (since we did start with a non-Android
CONFIG).

Nikolaus
