I did a comparison with the old BeagleBoard Hybrid prototype
which did rapidly see some satellites, although it had been
collecting dust for quite a while :)
The main difference is that the BB Hybrid operates the antennae
with a higher voltage than we have programmed through the
new hw-validation kernel patch. Another difference is the board
layout and that it uses a BeagleBoard C4 (with a 600MHz OMAP3).
So the self-generated noise may be different.
Then, I did measure some voltages in the antenna switch circuit
and it appears that the antenna switch circuit (we simply have
copied from the GTA02) is not working properly, although it
toggles the GPIO to indicate the external antenna.
This could explain some of the problems we see and where
the unexpected ear protector is sitting (the antenna switch),
but not yet the real reason or a cure.
